A BIG CHANGE
With Support of TGB Charity, we
are working hard for FREE Distribution of Reusable Sanitary Pads to young girls from
rural India.
Those young girls who find it really very hard to access and afford sanitary pads
available only in urban markets.
This Blog will help you learn on how Unipads and its passionate volunteers carry out
the noble initiative across Gujarat.
TASK FORCE IN ACTION
Teams at Unipads, designed solid action plans and quickly Got the mission started in
various schools in rural areas of Gujarat. Now, it’s a pleasure to bring you
the real snapshots of how we are working across multiple locations for bringing in a
positive change in the lives of young girls.
1. Workshops on Menstrual Hygiene & Awareness
We deployed our women volunteers to interact with young school girls across rural
and tribal areas.
They explained them about the best practices to follow For ensuring good health and
hygiene during the menstruation period. Plus, these women volunteers also presented
a demo of various hygiene products available in the markets
2. Direct Participation of all members
Right from day one, all the members of our organization Have devoted themselves to
expand the presence of this social initiative, far and wide across the state of
Gujarat.
3.Preparing Messages in Local Language
With a presence of vast population across the whole state, We designed all of our
promotional materials, leaflets And messages in Gujarati language.
This strategy worked successfully for this initiative, and we saw higher
participation of young and adolescent girls who came forward to discuss more on
their concerns and queries on menstrual hygiene.
4. Best Practices of Social Distancing
Covid-19 posed significant challenges for our sessions, but we took up the social
cause while keeping All the norms of social distancing and hygiene In place.
5.Phase-wise Distribution of Reusable Sanitary Pads
Going by figures, we have distributed our reusable sanitary pads kit among 200
Municipal School Girls and have 3 phases as work under progress.
We have spread these 3 phases across 4 Months.
- FIRST PHASE: Reaching 1000 School Girls
- SECOND PHASE: Reaching 5000 More School Girls, and
- THIRD PHASE: Reaching 6000 More School Girls
In this way, we aspire to reach to a total of 12000 School Girls across various
rural, semi-urban and tribal areas of Gujarat.
6.Reaching Underprivileged School Girls
We have shown special focus on serving Villages and semi-urban areas. While we
distribute our free sanitary pads kit in slum areas, our other teams are
simultaenously working on covering villages near Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Sabarkantha,
Dahod, Banaskantha And several other locations too.
